If you need another reason to be anxious for the snow to melt and spring to arrive, look no further than the upcoming release of a feminine, 60’s-inspired collection brought to you by an unlikely, yet perfectly paired duo.
After recently meeting at a party, Zooey Deschanel and Tommy Hilfiger are collaborating for a capsule collection to be released this spring. The actress might have worn Tommy Hilfiger to the 2013 Met Gala, but how did the two come up with the idea to create a line together? In a report with Women’s Wear Daily, Hilfiger said, “Somehow, the conversation went from loving vintage to possibly doing a capsule collection with her.”
The collection, titled “To Tommy, From Zooey,” will feature sixteen 60’s-inspired dresses that are short, fun, and flirty. Each one is exactly what we would expect from the quirky and adorable New Girl star, while still staying true to Tommy Hilfiger’s signature Americana flair. She may not have experience in fashion design, but we understand exactly why she is the driving force behind this project. The American designer states that Zooey is everything a Tommy girl is supposed to be — “all-American, youthful, fun, and funny, yet she has a sophistication and worldliness to her that’s quite endearing.”
Can’t wait to get your hands on a dress that will have you channeling your inner Jess Day? “To Tommy, From Zooey” will release on April 14 and will be available in Macy’s stores as well as the Tommy Hilfiger website. The dresses will be priced between $98 and $199, but some might consider that a small price to pay for the epitome of all-American style.
What do you think of Zooey designing the Tommy Hilfiger capsule collection?
