The Super Bowl is set to air on Sunday February 1st, and while the commercials are usually either tearjerkers from Budweiser or laugh-out-louds from E*Trade, Super Bowl XLIX is going to be different.

For the first time in seven years, lingerie brand Victoria’s Secret is taking on the Super Bowl. That’s right, supermodels Lily Aldridge, Candice Swanepoel, Adrianna Lima, Doutzen Kroes and Behati Prinsloo are appearing in, what we can only assume will be, one fierce commercial.

Victoria’s Secret showed a sneak peek of what’s to come on its YouTube channel on Wednesday, and it’s pretty amazing. The ladies are dressed as, yep, you guessed it, football players. The whole idea for advertising is to get people to start thinking about Valentine’s Day. The tagline is “Don’t drop the ball” in reference to V-Day. “February 14 is right around the corner, and in this online-exclusive video, the Angels would like to remind you that it’s not Valentine’s Day without Victoria’s Secret,” the video’s description reads.

Not surprisingly, Valentine’s Day is a huge holiday for the brand. In fact it’s the second biggest one after Christmas. According to ABC News, when Victoria’s Secret aired their 2008 Super Bowl ad, it had record-breaking views of 103.7 millions. So, yeah, it totally makes sense that they would want to air this, however it does have us a bit concerned that maybe sales are down? After all, why would you spend THAT much money if everything’s all good? Ah, maybe we’re just jumping to conclusions…

The new commercial is going to air after the fourth quarter 2-minute warning, and you best believe we will be tuning in.

Will you watch Victoria’s Secret Super Bowl ad?
