We’re less than two months away from the famous Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show (mark it down for December 2!). News broke months ago that the iconic show will be located overseas in London this year, and in honor of the new venue, British Vogue thought it would be fitting to feature the Angels in their November issue.
Victoria’s Secret Angels: Adriana Lima, Candice Swanepoel, Lily Aldridge, Lais Riberio and Elsa Hosk ditched their wings and barely-there lingerie for a little couture. Patrick Demarchelier captured the bombshell beauties wearing bold striped skirts from Dolce & Gabbana’s most recent Alta Moda show while posing topless with their backs to the camera.
“For British Vogue today, it’s a totally different feeling; it’s very raw,” Swanepoel said of the shoot. “I think it’s good for people to see us in a different way.” But couture clothing is also getting seen in a new light. “The idea of the inspiration was to really take the beauty and the grandeur and the theater of couture and really incorporate that with a fresh, youthful, sort of sexiness from the girls.”
What may surprise Vogue readers is how versatile these models really are. The magazine shows how different their favorite Angels look when they enter Vogue’s world. Although these beauties can never look anything but perfect, we must admit they are gorgeous in these all natural shots taken with what seems to be minimum makeup and loose hair waves.
