The photo shoot has a very colorful but pale tone that emphasizes the pastels and brightness of spring. We love that UO decided to shoot the Look Book with a road trip theme, and that the photographs are in a sequence that takes us along with them. The soft lighting provides a romantic and gentle feel, which we totally dig. The collection for the Look Book features a lot of florals, stripes, graphics, cute cut-outs and eyelet patterns, and of course flannels — Urban’s most widely carried pattern. Most of the denim is lighter too, in order to keep with that fresh look. Platform sandals are another style that’s all the rage right now that are featured in the collection. Light lavender, mint, and leopard print are heavily featured as well.
First things first, we have to say we love the use of high-waisted skirts and shorts with crop tops. Not only can you mix and match most of the patterns, but the look is something you can quickly transform from a day to night look with the addition of a jacket. The fitted tees and the floppy hats are two other trends we can totally get behind.
As always with Urban, Doc Marten’s prevail on through. It’s nice to know that some things never change. Take a peek at some of the items in “True Romance” here.
