All right, Tyler Shields, we get it, you don’t like Birkin bags.

The photographer, who came to fame after setting a Birkin bag on fire back in 2010, decided to go a step further and feed a $100,000 crocodile Hermes Birkin bag to an alligator — yes, an alligator. In the pictures we see the alligator and actress Ana Mulvoy-Ten both sinking their teeth into the bag, which took Shields seven months to obtain. “At one point during the shoot when Ana and the gator were both biting the bag it closed one of its eyes as if it was going to attack her, but did not,” Shields told the Daily Mail . “It was one of the most insane moments I have ever photographed.”

Oh, yeah, that’s totally cool — putting a 22-year-old and helpless animal in danger. That’s what fashion’s all about!  Clearly, people are upset about what went down during the shoot. Shields posted on Twitter that he received a few death threats, but isn’t afraid.

The photos will be a part of his art series called “Indulgence,” which will be shown in the Guy Hepner gallery in Los Angeles. We’re not sure what the photographer is trying to express or represent here, but we’re pretty sure he’s looking for that Terry Richardson shock factor. And unless he gets that alligator in a dark room and holding a can of PBR, it’s not going to happen.
