We’re not afraid to admit that we’ve occasionally daydreamed about being BFFs with Rihanna, imagining what our text conversations would be like. Well, it looks like we’re not the only ones! Vogue posted a new video on YouTube that has us on the floor laughing.
Last night at the CFDA Awards, Vogue editor Anna Wintour presented Rihanna with the Fashion Icon Award. And so, “Txts with Riri,” the fictional text message saga between the singer and editor just before the award gets presented, comes to life. All we can say is, video directors Josh Ruben and Vincent Peone nailed it. Using text bubbles accompanied by photos, the video depicts a laugh-out-loud exchange between these two majorly fashionable ladies. What makes the text convo so funny is the way it plays up Wintour’s infamously, shall we say… reserved personality. Try not to crack up when Rihanna sends a FarmVille invitation and Wintour responds: [Rejected]. Here are some more of our favorite back-and-forth texts from the video:
The video includes even more hysterical one-liners and vocabulary that any fashionista can appreciate, like “twinzies” and “totes.” Thumbs up, Vogue, we LOLed and loved this video. Keep ’em coming!
