One of our favorite things about fall and winter fashion is the shoes. Hands down. Gone are the sandals and flats, and boots and other cozy slip-ons make their way back into our wardrobes. The shoe winter lines are rolling out (have you seen Converse’s winter line yet?), and we’re particularly interested in TOMS’s first-ever winter shoe collection.
Yep, you guessed it: TOMS is now selling boots. Inspired by one of their recent giving tips to Nepal, the boots are slip-ons with giant side stitching and decorative shafts with suede lace-ups. Fans of the comfy (and charitable!) shoe brand can now shrug off those summer-time slip-ons in favor of something a little warmer (and more festive) for the cold winter climate.
There’s only a bit of concern we have for this new line (you may have guessed that too): they look a lot like UGGs. Like a whole lot. We’re not a fan of UGGs here on Haute Talk. UGGs lack the structure and beauty that a good pair of leather boots can do to complete an outfit. UGGs lack that oomph. So it’s rather confusing to us that TOMS would want to go in the same direction as a brand who isn’t exactly performing well these days in terms of sales.
But if UGGs are your thing (or sort of, as you’d like to see something a bit more fresh than the traditional slip-on boot), then you’ll be glad to hear that the Nepal boots will be sold for $109 to $114 at retailers like Nordstrom and Journeys. Check out the collection below.
Will you buy your own TOMS winter boots?
