It’s time to take a look back to the year 1990, when two sizzling models graced the cover of British Vogue. Christy Turlington and Linda Evangelista were rising supermodels and came together for this issue to form exactly what the article describes as a “Perfect Partnership.”
Turlington was discovered by photographer Denni Codyin Miami while riding a horse . She kick-started her career in 1987, becoming the face of Calvin Klein up until 2007. The model boasts a pretty impressive career by appearing in movies, music videos, and over 500 magazine covers. She has shown off her humanitarian side by posing nude for the PETA campaign, creating a documentary titled, No Woman, No Cry, which profiles poor maternal health from around the world. In 2010, she founded Every Woman Counts in order to end preventable deaths caused by childbirth. On top of everything else, she is a mother to a son and a daughter whom she had with actor Ed Burns.
Linda Evangelista is a Canadian born model who moved to New York after signing a contract with Elite Model Agency, from there she went to Paris to help expand her career and opportunities. Since starting her career, Evangelista has been featured in over 600 magazines and holds a record for the most times being on the cover of Vogue Italia.
The famous shoot was captured by photographer Patrick Demarchelier, who is known by his ability to capture a fun and casual photo. His style became popular in the 1960s where his work was recognizable by the way he showed true beauty of a person with an organic or relaxed setting.
The models are seen wearing clothing that is mostly black and white in a summer/ beach scene. There are many outfits from dozens of designers. Most notably Polo Ralph Lauren and Issac Mizahri. Together the photographer, and models created the perfect shoot full of laughs, fun, and beauty in which they truly show the perfect partnership.
