Hermione has grown up.
Emma Watson covers the May issue of British GQ wearing a dress that—as so many have already noted—bears more resemblance to a certain skimpy Pretty Woman number than Emma’s usual diet of Chanel et al. She brandishes some sort of creamy frozen beverage like a woman possessed.
The Hogwarts alumna (who, as GQ would like you to know, is “in character” and “out of control,” thank you very much) shows some serious skin, and fake star tattoos for the lad mag. The shot would seem to be in the spirit of her role as an Out of Control Teen in Sofia Coppola’s upcoming The Bling Ring, In which she plays a young thief.
She told the magazine, “Really I was open-minded about doing anything, but the one thing I didn’t want to do was get myself into a corset because I was worried I’d never get out again. I knew it would be a really comfortable thing to do, but I felt… I had to dive into something really different. This has been a really big departure for me; it’s a really big character. That’s so exciting for me because it meant I was really acting.”
Questionable dress aside, Emma’s looking fierce. And is it just us, or is she looking a touch V-Beckhamesque around the cheekbones?
