You could say looking up awesome nail art on Instagram is one of our favorite past times at Haute Talk. Lucky for us, we were able to sit down with nail artist Tabitha Bonnell to learn some spring nail tips that will have us looking awesome in no time. Bonnell, who has been doing nail art for over two and a half years now, posts her work on her IG account @idreamoflacquer. Not only does Bonnell use her natural nails for her designs, but she’s also has such interesting designs that we just can’t get enough of. Read our full interview below on spring nail art and get ready to get inspired.
Haute Talk: What are some current spring trends you’ve been noticing? Tabitha Bonnell: Floral manis are definitely in this season. You can spruce up any manicure just by adding some simple roses or other flowers to it.
HT: What are some current popular colors? TB: Pastels are always a definite must have for spring! This year there seems for be more pastel neons releasing.
HT: Where do you draw your inspiration from?
TB: I find inspiration in just about anything from an article of clothing to Pinterest!
HT: Is there anyone in particular that inspires you from the nail community?
TB: This is such a tough question because there are so many amazing nail artists out there! Some that I turn to most often are Jessie of @nailsofjessiek for her amazing and creative tape manis, Tabitha of @kiss_ot_chic for her variety of adorable and girly manicures she creates and Alice of @onenailtorulethemall because she has some of the most unique nail designs and has great tutorials so that anyone can recreate her looks.
HT: Any tips for long lasting polish?
TB: It’s all about using a quality base and top coat combination! I use Orly Bonder for a base because it’s rubberized to help grip the polish. H.K. Girl Fast Dry top coat from Glisten & Glow because it is not only super shiny and drys fast but it doesn’t shrink polish or chip as fast as other top coats.
HT: Do you know of any quick, easy Spring DIY looks?
TB: All you need is a dotting tool which can be purchased on Amazon for really cheap.
