Rachel McAdams is by far one of the most admired actresses in the business. Not only did she have the pleasure of dating the one and only Ryan Gosling, but she’s also super talented, funny and downright stunning, which is why it makes sense that she is the cover star for Allure’s 2014 August issue.
For the photo shoot, shot by Carter Smith, McAdams is dressed in gorgeous Victorian-styled clothing from designers like Erdem, Valentino, Elie Saab and Charlotte Olympia. Her beauty look is simple and natural with just a touch of bronzer, blush and lip balm. Her hair is ethereal with a mix of curls and waves that have us in envy. It’s unusual seeing McAdams like this, as the character actor has always been “dolled up” for movies like The Notebook, Sherlock Holmes and Mean Girls — the cult movie also featuring Lindsay Lohan, who McAdams says, she was completely intimated by. “If anything, I was in awe of her talent. I looked at her as this experienced actor, and she had great comedic timing.” Her latest movie, A Most Wanted Man, stars the late Phillip Seymour Hoffman, who became a mentor to the starlet. “I learned so much from him. He really takes you under— he really took me under his wing.”
And for the question that’s all on your minds, no she’s not following the Ryan Gosling obsessed blog Hey Girl. “I know you’re not going to believe me,” she said, “but I don’t follow it.” Yeah, totally not buying that. What what we are buying is her skincare secrets. “I use a seaweed mask [Fresh Sea Plant Mask] by Chicet that I really love. It dries, and then it’s really fun to pick off the pieces of seaweed, which is totally disgusting, and I can’t believe I just told you that,” she said.
