Politicians get scrutinized a lot, but it’s usually because of their policies, not because of what their wearing (unless you’re Hillary Clinton, of course). Unfortunately, President Obama was subject to some good internet trolling after wearing a tan suit during a press conference on Thursday.  Instead of actually listening to what he had to say about ISIS and Russia, people were very concerned about this suit.

A slew of funny tweets, memes and even charts, were made during the conference. We guess it has something to do with the fact that we’re not use to seeing The President dress in such a, taupe, color. Back in 2012, President Obama told Vanity Fair that when it comes to deciding on what he wears, he’ll only really go in two directions. “You’ll see I wear only gray or blue suits,” he said. “I’m trying to pare down decisions. I don’t want to make decisions about what I’m eating or wearing. Because I have too many other decisions to make.” Of course, it is Labor Day weekend, and perhaps he was trying to just mix things up a bit.

He should know though, that once you mix things up a bit, the internet just can’t handle it. There have been thousands of Tweets about this suit. Business Insider Editor Hunter Walker wrote “This suit is the boldest thing Obama’s done in months.” And naturally, there’s even a Twitter account called “BarackTanSuit” which has a slew of photos, one of which shows that President Obama has indeed worn a tan suit before — on Easter Sunday.

Anyway, while we love a good fashion joke, we do think it’s REALLY important that you guys listen to what President Obama had to say on these topics. Stay informed, stay classy.

What do you think of President Obama’s tan suit?
