Emma Watson decided to take some time off from acting for herself after basically an entire childhood of being Hermione, and unlike the majority of child stars she has managed to come back even more perfect than before. And Hermione Granger was top notch, so that’s saying something. After her time at Brown University Ms. Watson has certainly broken out of the wizard world and become a brilliant adult actress, and not to mention a fashion and style icon for young women. So it’s no surprise that she is going to be on the cover of the upcoming April 2014 issue of Elle.
In her Elle cover Watson is photographed looking fabulous in pieces from Balmain and Kara Ross New York, and the rest of her spread includes some fantastic pieces from Versace, Anthony Vaccarello, What Goes Around Comes Around, Michael Kors, Rodarte, Rupert Sanderson, Céline and of course Chanel.
In the article Emma Watson discusses the importance of maintaining a life outside of acting and being her own person, not just her characters. In the interview she said “I remember reading this thing that Elizabeth Taylor wrote. She had her first kiss in character. On a movie set. It really struck me. I don’t know how or why, but I had this sense that if I wasn’t really careful, that could be me: that my first kiss could be in somebody else’s clothes. And my experiences could all belong to someone else.” We think her unique style and sense of personal fashion are great ways to maintain her individuality in life off screen. Having a life of her own beyond her movies can also help her do an even better job at portraying the emotions of her characters because she’ll be more likely to really relate, like in her new upcoming Blockbuster epic Noah where she play’s Noah’s daughter Ila and has to be able to give a performance which supports the grand and overwhelming theme of the film, “is humanity good or bad?”
The issue will be available on newsstands on March 25, 2014.
