Lea Michele has been under the spotlight since the heartbreaking death of her boyfriend Cory Monteith in July 2013. As one of America’s Sweethearts, the entire country was praying for her as she was experiencing the ultimate heartbreak. She takes to April’s issue of Seventeen Magazine to officially speak out on the fact that she is finding “lasting happiness” after the death of Cory. Michele has been making public appearances for months now, and she is photographed in public looking as happy as she possibly could be at this time. But it leads us to question whether this is a mask that she is putting on to avoid attention, or if she is finding genuine closure just months after losing the love of her life.
Lea proves that even when your life gets turned upside down, you have the strength to find your own happiness again, live your best life, and be the best version of yourself that you could possibly be. To help with moving on, Michele has been putting her time and effort into her latest album Louder that offers a more emotional and dramatic sound than her typical happy and “poppy” sound that we usually hear from her. The album also includes the heartbreaking song written for Cory titled “If You Say So” which is an absolute tear jerker.
In the editorial, she discusses why she chose to keep filming Glee despite having lost her boyfriend who was also a star on the show. “[The Glee cast] is the greatest group of people I have ever met in my entire life! We all lost Cory. I didn’t think for one minute that being away from them was what I wanted. Being on the set of Glee is no more difficult than being at home and finding Cory’s slippers under the bed.” If this tough chick doesn’t inspire you to live every day to the fullest and love like there is no tomorrow, I don’t know what will. Congrats to Lea on this gorgeous shoot! The photographer on site was Kenneth Willardt.
Seventeen offers her most intimate interview yet, and the issue hits newsstands March 11th.
