Now that the new season of Game of Thrones has started, we just can’t seem to get enough of all the action. GQ Magazine picked up on our obsession with the series (and its awesome characters) and decided to feature actress Natalie Dormer in their April issue.
In addition to Game of Thrones, Dormer is also playing the role of documentarian Cressida in the two upcoming finale installments of The Hunger Games series. For her character roles, she’s used to wearing long, gentrified skirts and dresses — but for GQ, she wore something entirely different. Or rather, not much at all.
The half-shaved hairstyle we see in the photos is part of her look as Cressida in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay. But not to worry, Dormer says she loves her new look and has launched her into a new, more edgy phase, or as she calls it, “Phase ‘Rock It Out.'” The buzz cut, plus her sassy styles for the shoot, show the actress’s charming attitude. She definitely makes “badass” look enviable.
According to the magazine, Dormer is a recovering tomboy with a love for adrenaline who lives her life like the action movie lead she hopes to play someday.“I love going out of my comfort zone — I live to go out of my comfort zone,” Dormer said, “Obviously, you have quieter years than others — you don’t go jumping out of a plane every day.”
The Game of Thrones star is currently training for the London Marathon and recently developed an obsession with scuba diving after she filmed an underwater crash scene in the Czech Republic. Although Dormer is usually busy with her action-packed lifestyle, she is sometimes lazy and ordinary like the rest of us. Occasionally, she’ll take a break on a Sunday to be, what she calls, “a bed monster.” Isn’t that us, like, every day?
