Legendary Czech model Paulina Porizkova celebrates 49 years of fabulousness as she rings in her birthday today!
Porizkova’s done a little of everything, and continues to model today. Her nearly topless photo for Sports Illustrated not only proves that she’s still got it, but that’s she’s never lost it and has completely said “No Thanks” to aging. Seriously, look at her:
We’re completely and utterly jealous over here, but also over the moon that she’s been able to continue modeling for as many years as she has.
Her career skyrocketed in 1984 after she was featured on the cover of Sport’s Illustrated, and has been featured in several magazines over her career including Cosmopolitan, Self, and Harper’s Bazaar. She has modeled for Escada, Macy’s, Maybelline, and was Estée Lauder’s ad girl following Elizabeth Hurley. She’s recently done work for Avon and was featured in the editorial “Hot Heads” for Allure.
Despite her continuous success, Porizkova has openly stated that she believes that modeling doesn’t foster the best of images. Check out her article, “Modeling Is A Great Job And A Sh*tty Career”, on Huffington Post. We love being able to read her opinion on the matter.
Besides modeling, Porizkova has pursued careers in acting and publishing. In 2007 she wrote and published the novel “A Model Summer”, a fictional story of a 15-year old girl that’s whisked away to model in Paris. The synopsis of the novel is very similar to Porizkova’s own modeling story, as she was discovered as a teenager in Sweden.
Paulina, we at Haute Talk love you, and hope you have a very Happy Birthday! Please share your beauty secrets with us…please.
