Although she calls movie stars Robin Wright and Sean Penn “mom” and “dad,” model Dylan Penn has had to make a name for herself after revealing to V Magazine that she was financially cut off by her parents at age 18.
“They have always been good at instilling that you’re responsible for your own sh*t,” says Penn, now 23.
After dropping out of film school, Penn began working various low-paying jobs including a waitress, hostess, and even a pizza-delivery girl, where she says she was mistaken for a stripper on multiple occasions. “That was what led me into modeling, because I just hated it,” Penn explains. The blonde bombshell soon found her place in the on-camera family business, and quickly signed with an agency.
Penn has appeared in magazines such as GQ and Vogue Italia, and although she denied a shoot with Playboy, the model was recently featured in an erotic spread for Treats! magazine (shown below).
Wearing nothing but a Fendi bag, Penn tells V, “I’ve always been extremely comfortable in my body, and I think that comes from how I grew up. It sounds so cheesy, but it was never about what you look like on the outside, it was about what you really give,” she says.
Penn is soon to also make her acting debut in the horror-flick, “Condemned,” a story of a group of kids living in a dilapidated home in New York City‘s lower east side. However, she was reluctant to follow her parents silver-screen footsteps, saying “I resisted acting for a long time because I grew up around it, and it wasn’t something that was interesting to me.”
And although she has built her own career, Penn remains thankful for her Hollywood genes, telling Treats!, “I don’t deny that I had a very privileged upbringing but my parents … maintained a sense of normalcy that I think many people find hard to achieve and I am so grateful for that.”
