Ming Xi has been so busy lately walking show after show that it hard to believe she even had time to do an editorial, but this model is probably used to a nonstop schedule; she’s one of China’s most in-demand models of her generation. She’s been walking for many designers’ Spring/Summer 2014 collections such as Versace, Chanel, Michael Kors, Diane Von Furstenberg, and Prabal Gurung. Xi even appeared in the coveted Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.
The 23-year-old model teamed up with fashion and portrait photographer Boo George for this almost surreal editorial for Vogue China‘s January 2014 issue. Taking place in an abandoned industrial area, George mostly sticks to black and white for this shoot, but his subtle pops of color — which, in classic Boo George style, are always quiet and muted — are always exciting additions. Stylist Joanna Schlenzka has Xi wearing some loose-fitting, understated pieces from the Spring/Summer 2014 collections of Givenchy, Lanving, Narciso Rodriguez, and more.
We’re loving the long white pants with the black stripe down the side, and especially the all-black ensemble. Sometimes baggier clothing can look funny on a model, but Xi pulls it off perfectly — and her Cara Delevingne-style eyebrows pull the looks all together.
