Believe it or not, Miley Cyrus is causing a bit of controversy.

The 22-year-old singer is in a bit of hot water for her MAC ads. The ads, where one features her laying down with her legs up against a mirror, received a lot of complaints from people in the United Kingdom, who found them offensive and unsuitable for children. miley cyrus MAC spoke out against the the complaints, saying the ads show Cyrus is in a “confident pose.” The Advertising Standards Authority had to look into the complaints, and luckily for MAC and Cyrus, found that although they are “sexually suggestive,” the images are not offensive. “While we considered that the images in all three posters were sexually suggestive, we concluded however, that they were not overtly sexual and unlikely to cause serious or widespread offence,” said the ASA. However, the ads cannot be placed 100 meters within a school, which MAC had already established before the campaign’s release. Cyrus has been a part of the MAC family since October 2014 — and although her images may be provocative, it’s all for a good cause. The Viva Glam campaign donates all proceeds to the MAC AIDS Fund.

But you know, it just wouldn’t be a Miley project unless people were upset about it…
