Can you smell the fashion? No, really. Because I can… all the way from my humble abode. So many insane (and amazing) shows happened this weekend at Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week. We don’t even know where to get started. To make it easier for you (and us) we’ll give you the highlight reel of this weekend’s events.

1. Herve Leger

Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week - Herve Leger

Herve Leger was as “Herve” as ever. Naturally, the duo behind the brand focused on body-con. All those club-going, party monsters jumped for joy, surely. Despite the recurring theme, however, Leger attempted to mix it up by experimenting with fabrics, colors, lengths, and patterns. There was leather, there were Polynesian inspired prints, and even an experimentation with separates. All in all, it was a show holding to the house’s “codes” while attempting to switch it up a bit. We think they successfully brought something new to the table.

2. Charlotte Ronson

Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week - Charlotte Ronson

Ronson is the master of tomboyish charm with a feminine flair. While I love looking at shows via, and I tend to “OOH” and “AHH” on many of them, not many make me say “I like that. I want to wear that right now,” as much as Ronson’s shows quite do. This year, we expected nothing less of the fashion mogul! While it’s no fuss, we think her pastels are quite charming.

3. Alexander Wang

Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week - Alexander Wang

“… Spendin’ errthang on Alexander Wang…” Thank you Yeezus for that quote, and boy ain’t it the truth. I wouldn’t mind spending a pretty penny on these clothes. Perhaps I am biased, but I am obsessed with Mr. Wang. His downtown chic vibes are everything I would ever want to dress myself in. Not only are the pieces beautifully made and structured, but also perfectly functional. Flippy skirts, geometric jackets, provocative (yet just the right amount of) peek-a-boo skin… I’m an addict, what can I say?

4. Prabal Gurung

Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week - Prabal Gurung

Arguably, one of the most talked about shows this weekend due to certain disagreements. While Wang makes me revel in my 20’s, Prabal makes me want to be a lady. Some of his looks were hit or miss (the futuristic PVC is not for me), but the structural and technical aspects of his pieces were on point as per usual. It goes without saying that Gurung knows what he’s good at, and he should be applauded for having taken certain leaps if anything. I mean… there’s a reason the First Lady lusts after his pieces!

6. Giulietta

Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week - Giulietta

What do I love about Giulietta? Well, besides my sweet memories of steaming her garments backstage a couple of years ago when she first broke out on the scene on her own, it’s her awe-inspiring elegance that she captures in her collections. Couple that with a wondrous simplicity and you’ll wonder just how she does it. It must be the Italian in her! Nothing is too fussy yet exudes luxury all the same.

These were some of the most talked about shows this weekend, but what do you think? Do you have any favorites?
