Even though we might be slightly tardy to the party, we still think it’s a great time to wish Zac Posen a happy belated birthday. The well-known and talented designer turned 33 years young on October 24. We can only hope we’re half as successful as him by our 33rd. In the mean time, we’ll let him inspire our style. You’ve got to look the part, right?

While his recent shows were nothing short of beautiful, we realized a great way to celebrate his birthday would be by taking a step into the past and pulling from his previous shows. This Fall 2010 look is casual enough for everyday in comparison to Posen’s usual frock and could be recreated easily. The look was made up of neutral colors and basic silhouettes, but as a whole created one great pulled together daytime look.

We took cues from Posen when it came to the colors. We stuck with neutral grays, beige, and black but slightly changed it up. While Posen’s handy work in creating a figure hugging sweater may be envy-worthy, we thought to keep it relaxed with a turtle neck. Plus, it cannot be denied that the coldest days are looming straight ahead and we’re loving the idea of turtle necks to keep us warm this season.
In addition, while the look seems to favor strappy heels, we thought to cover it up with these patent leather Zara boots. BRB, going to buy these now!
To finish off the look, stick with Zac Posen’s smokey eye runway look and throw a tailored coat over it all for the perfect winter ensemble. The best part is that you can take this look from work to weekend without anyone batting an eye. And did we tell you that each item rings in at less than $100 each? Talk about Luxe for Less. Who says you can’t afford high end fashion when all you really need to do is be inspired by it?
