Looks like now that Fashion Month is over, all we can really look forward to is the cold winter that lies ahead of us in hopes that we’ll make it to the other side: Spring. But first, we must brave the storm of winter in style, right? The best way to do this is by going back into the F/W 2013 archives and getting inspired. What look expired us this time? A Chloé outfit from her menswear-inspired Fall/Winter 2013 collection – pictured below:
This look is fairly simple. With its fundamentals lying in color blocking and electric colors, it seems like you can’t go wrong. That being said, let’s be honest, no one can prance around in a sleeveless vest all winter! (Unless, of course, you live in LA.) Here we show you how to be inspired without being left in the cold. All you need to do is make slight modifications!
We’ve found a perfect, electric royal blue dress from John Lewis which – let’s be honest – will probably go with anything. The best part? You could make it work for day or night. You could chose to add a belt even to cinch it at the waist, accentuating your figure.
The next step was to find a black structured coat. While you could always up for a vest if need be, practicality was our main concern. This New Look coat was perfect for the winter but still was very obviously inspired by Chloé’s outerwear. The visible zippers and biker themes were a perfect pairing.
Finally, accessories. All we needed was a bright blue satchel and a pair of oxford and we were good to go! The best part about this whole deal, though? Each piece rang in at less than $150! What more could a girl ask for?
