The 28-year-old has been out of the spotlight for bit after her stint on Gossip Girl ended, but it’s clear from this that she’s making a comeback. For the steamy cover, Meester is styled in jeans with a stripped tank layered under a oversize red star fur vest. Her ombre hair is textured with loose waves and her makeup is very natural, besides her ruby lips that are almost identical to the color of her vest. She then topped her look off with an amazing metallic manicure. Leighton’s flawless skin and impeccable style just made the issue super attractive.
Inside the glossy, Meester shares with the magazine her experience she had playing the lead role on Gossip Girl and her predictions on where her career may go. “I started the show when I was so young, and once it was over, I wanted to do things that were more exciting and challenging and more me—more my adult taste. Of course, that’s said with nothing but gratitude and love for that experience in that time of my life.”
For six years, America had a love/ hate relationship with Meester’s character, Blair Waldorf. She played a witty overprivileged teenager that was the Queen Bee of Manhattan’s social scene. We know Meester has outgrown her Gossip Girl days, and we love seeing her play roles that are more age appropriate that do in fact resemble her life off camera. “As far as scripts go, the roles of women standing alone on their own as whole, real, full people are few and far between. So with both of those roles [Life Partners and Like Sunday, Like Rain], what I loved is that neither of them are centered around romantic relationships. They’re flawed, real human beings that I could bread down and really enjoy playing. They’re like me, in a way.”
