From their own frequent Instagram posts together, to the constant paparazzi photos, to their television series, the Kardashian/Jenner sisters seem to be attached at the hip – through work and play – and it appears that they like it that way.
However, one of the siblings is trying to cut the cord. In a recent interview with Love Magazine, Kendall Jenner revealed that she wants to keep her work life separate from her home life. Not such a surprising statement from the 18-year-old, who has recently been trying to make a serious name for herself as a high-fashion model.
The young Jenner even asked big sis Kim Kardashian not to attend the shows she was walking in. Kendall told Love, “Kim was invited to a lot of the shows that I was in. She called me before and was like, ‘Hey, I was invited to the show, I just wanted to let you know. Do you want me to come?’ and I was like, ‘No.'”
Ziiiiing. Sorry, Kim.
Although it seems like a harsh approach, we can’t really blame Kendall, who isn’t a stranger to the frenzy that surrounds any event Mrs. West attends. And after walking the runways of the fashion greats, including Marc Jacobs and Chanel, it would only be a professional courtesy for the young model to ensure that the attention remains on the designer rather than her celebrity sister.
Sure, it may sound like a classic case of not wanting to be overshadowed by an older sibling, but it seems that Jenner is truly just trying to be taken seriously – sans help of her A-List genes. And that’s a no-nonsense work ethic we can definitely respect.
Do you agree with Kendall Jenner’s decision?
