Katy Perry is usually seen in head-to-toe colors and prints, but not for W Magazine’s November 2013 cover. In this cover the songstress is sultry with a modern interpretation of 60’s glam. This is Katy’s first time on the cover of W Magazine and she is featured in the special edition Global Style issue. Her hair was styled by Anthony Turner at Art Partner, makeup by Gucci Westman for Revlon, and manicure by Alicia Torello for Essie at the Wall Group. She was styled by Edward Enninful and was shoot in Skylight West Studios in New York.
Throughout the spread Katy has on classic makeup look that really screams 60’s. Winged liner, nude lips, and peachy blush. Her hair is tousled with big curls and her natural side part. One cover is pictured in a Chanel dress and a coordinating white Fleur du Mal bra. She’s all dripping with diamonds, a matching earring and necklace set from Harry Winston. In her second cover, she is captured wearing an over-sized pink Michael Kors turtleneck sweater. Wolford stockings and a Jacob & Co watch. Inside the magazine she can be seen wearing a matching set of green sweater top and skirt by Marc Jacobs. She is also seen wearing a Ralph Lauren sweater, with a Altuzarra skirt, and Louis Vutton Pumps.
This cover coincides with the singer’s latest album “Prism”. Katy’s fourth studio album already has a #1 single, “Roar”, and she has recently released her newest single, “Unconditionally”, which debuted at the opening of the I heart Radio Theater in Los Angeles.
In the interview with Lynn Hirschberg, Katy takes about her first experiences in the music industry, the inspiration behind her song “Roar”, and why she hasn’t been doing more movies. She also discusses how she felt about being married and how she feel in love with the 40’s look.
