Thanks to the magic of the internet, we no longer have to sit through four hour affairs like the Golden Globes in order to appropriately snark about the gowns worn. And there was a whole lot to snark about, y’all. Without further ado, here are a handful of our favorite looks from last night. Stay tuned for the Bad and the Weird, coming shortly!

Helen Mirren (in Badgley Mischka) – Helen, you can do no wrong. And, in turn, Badgley Mischka done you right.

Marion Cotillard (in Dior) – Love, love, love. And fantastic hair. Which makes us wonder why Marion looks so uncomfortable/shamed in most of the photos from last night.

Morena Baccarin (in Valentino Couture) – This actress apparently stars in Homeland, but wrangled her way into a fabulous gown straight out of the Downton Abbey costume closet.

Julianne Moore (in Tom Ford) – Love the dress, hate the hair. What happened to the sexy waves we saw at the last snoozefest Emmy’s?  No go, Julianne. Also, who is this drab looking man, and why does he look so sad? You’re with Julianne freaking Moore.

Rosario Dawson (in Antonio Berardi) – Rosario Dawson, this dress is fabulous. The color feels—dare we say it?—unexpected, and we even like the interesting bustle.

Naomi Watts (in Zac Posen) – Naomi Watts heard oxblood was in. We’ll give her a pass, because this dress is pretty gorgeous, even though it needs badly to be steamed.

Kerry Washington (in Miu Miu) – Absolutely exquisite. Someone is dealing with a whole lot of carpal tunnel from doing the detailing on this gown.

Kate Hudson (in Alexander McQueen) – Kate has got her groove back. We love the paired down makeup with this Dynasty-worthy gown. Gorgeous.

Zosia Mamet (in Tony Ward Couture) – Beautiful. Love this gown, leather fiends that we are. Though we do wish those strong brows had been paired with at least some color on her lips. With the hair it’s all a touch harsh, but the dress is a major win and fits her beautifully. Particularly stunning and refreshing in the sequined wasteland of red carpet fashion.
