Supermodel Gigi Hadid is walking in nearly every fashion show during New York Fashion Week. She’s also walking in a slew of other shows during London and Milan Fashion Week. So why does someone with her talent and someone of her age have to defend her body? Because the internet, that’s why.

The 20-year-old took to Instagram to defend her body and speak out against body shammers who apparently, are constantly rolling Hadid’s social media feeds.

According to her modeling agency, IMG, Hadid stands at 5’10 with measurements of 34 – 25 – 35. So, it’s safe to say that Hadid fits the abnormal standard of beauty within the modeling world. With that being said, Hadid is definitely a healthy portrayal of that standard.

In Milan for the one and only @versace_official ♡ thank you dv I LOVE YOU

Also, we’re not sure what Hadid means in regards to not having the same body type as other models in shows. Another supermodel and one of Hadid’s best friends, Kendall Jenner comes in at 5’8 with measurements of 33 – 24 – 24 — ver similar to Gigi’s. But we digress, because the real reason for this post is to show people how much of an impact your words can have on someone, even someone as famous as Hadid.

Calling someone fat or talking about their weight does nothing but harm. As Hadid says, let’s focus on talking about things that inspire us!
