We will still  be rocking our trusty summer shoes for a couple of more weeks now, but let’s face it, they go through a lot of wear and tear. So, when we say this incredible cute (and easy!) DIY sandal idea from Grace Atwood of Stripes and Sequins that would spruce them up a bit, we had to share.

We’re sure you’ve noticed an oh-so-adorable shoe trend emerging these days. Normally, we’re not one for too much bling, bling on our shoes, but jeweled sandals? We need a pair now. After doing some retail research, we found some shoes we loved, but the prices? Not so much.  That’s why we were so excited when we found this DIY, because not only is it super cute but it’s totally affordable!

Atwood took inspiration from a pair of MARNI sandals that we’re just a  bit out of budget. So, she ended up taking a pair from J. Crew and recreated the look for so, so much less. (Shoe addicts, rejoice.) Love this look? If so, here’s what you’ll need to do to recreate it.  Take old neutral colored sandals from the back of your closet, or buy a new inexpensive pair (they have great options online.) Then, hit up a crafts store for rhinestones. Choose whichever shapes and colors your heart desires! Then, just use some E6000 glue to apply the jewels to the sandal straps. And, voila! You’ve got a new trendy shoe without breaking the bank.
