Now that summer is finally here (hello, Memorial Day!), it’s time to do one of America’s (well, at least NYC’s) favorite past-times: day drink. Some day drinking starts and ends before the sun goes down, others continue all through the night. Either way, one thing for sure is that there’s a lot of beer involved. So much beer, in fact, that you’re probably apt to have a few half-empties lying around when you wake up still-drunk and gasping for the world’s biggest bagel. But before you pour that craft IPA your friend brought over down the sink, you may want to consider using it to make this genius homemade beer facial courtesy of Popsugar Beauty. The hops in IPAs have antioxidant properties that can help rejuvenate hangover-ravaged skin by replenishing lost moisture and even fighting acne-causing bacteria, making dry, clammy hangover skin a thing of the past (kind of like the bar you danced on the day before…at 3 pm). Read on for the complete list of ingredients and instructions on how to make your own beer facial, or head to Popsugar for more DIY beauty ideas.

What you’ll need: IPA beer, olive oil, egg whites, honey and plain yogurt. Simply mix all the ingredients together and give them a quick whisk. Once the mixture is completely blended, apply it to your face with either your fingertips, a cotton ball or a clean makeup brush and let set for a few minutes, or until the egg white hardens. Rinse off with warm water to reveal skin that looks fresh out of the spa, rather than fresh out of the bar. Check out the video below for the full run-down and be sure to let us know in the comments about your own beer facial!
