Y’all, where do we even start…
A-list country music stars gathered down south in Nashville last night for the Country Music Television Awards AKA the CMT Awards. Can we just say, the performances were on point, and so was the fashion (for the most part).
Our favorites from the night include Carrie Underwood and Miranda Lambert‘s gorgeous gowns. We can’t decide if we loved their second set of dresses even more! Outfit changes… naturally. The ladies looked bangin’ in their black minis as they performed a duet of “Somethin’ Bad” on the Bridgestone Arena stage.
Cassadee Pope, Season 3 winner of The Voice, also wowed us in a Theia crop top and full skirt combo. She took home her first ‘buckle’ award for Breakthrough Video of the Year for her single, “Wasting All These Tears.” We’re adding this one to our summer playlist ASAP. We might have to give the “best dressed” title to Jana Kramer, who kept it simple and sexy in a fitted pink number. Then again, we equally drooled over Kristen Bell‘s Zuhair Murad sparkler and LeAnn Rimes in all white with that ever-so-plunging neckline. Did we mention Nicole Kidman? She looked flawless, but you already knew that, because she’s Nicole Kidman.
But let’s not forget the guys. Luke Bryan and Blake Shelton delivered that southern charm we were looking for, as usual. Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney of Dan + Shay made for some quality eye candy as well. (If you haven’t heard of these guys yet, be sure to give their music a listen!)
While we thought most of the red carpet looks were fab, we must admit that there were a handful of missteps. Kate Walsh wasn’t totally doing it for us in her black-and-white strapless frock while Meghan Linsey, well, let’s just say she took the whole “country” thing one step too far…
