This week, we were reminded again of what body shaming can do to someone’s self esteem and why it’s an issue we should be talking about. Cassey Ho, also known as Blogilates on YouTube, has served as a fitness guru for her millions of subscribers for six years now. And this week, she took a break from her usual videos about ab and thigh workouts to spread a message about body shaming.

Her video has gone viral over the past few days and proves that even fitness gurus like herself have body image issues. In a world where pretty much everything is photoshopped (from magazine covers to Instagram photos), it’s refreshing to see someone, especially someone famous like Ho, share with the public how all of these negative comments make her feel. She even shared a photoshopped picture of herself with her Instagram followers to see how they would react, and the feedback was pretty stunning.

The video depicts Ho just getting back from a run and posing for a selfie (you know, as we do these days.) When she opens her Instagram feed, she scrolls through one negative comment after another telling her to tone up her (nonexistent) “love handles” and a bunch of other mean things.

The rest of the video, which shows Ho’s process of achieving the “perfect” body, is refreshingly honest and inspiring. You just have to see for yourself! And don’t forget to spread the word! “If you want to know what you can do to help stop body shaming, all I ask is that you share the video with at least 1 person,” Ho wrote on her Instagram account. So watch the video and realize why this whole “body shaming” thing needs to come to an end ASAP.
