Holy bling Batman! It has been announced that the beautiful blonde Candice Swanepoel has been chosen to wear the Fantasy Bra at this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. This tradition dates back to 1996, when Claudia Schiffer wore the first “Million Dollar Miracle Bra.”

The “Royal Fantasy Bra” is truly a work of art. With over 4,200 precious gems set in 18-carat gold, it is hard not to be in awe of the bra. Not to mention the hefty price tag: $10 million for the ruby, diamond and yellow sapphire encrusted piece of lingerie. The piece was designed by the jewelry company Mouawad and is significantly more expensive than last year’s bra, which was $2.5 million.
This is the first time that the 24-year-old South African model will wear a fantasy bra in one of Victoria’s Secret’s runway shows. The honor has been bestowed upon big names like Miranda Kerr, Heidi Klum and Gisele Bündchen in the past. With Bündchen wearing the most expensive bra to date in 2000. The “Red Hot Fantasy Bra” and panty set was $20 million, although $10 million for Swanepoel’s attire is nothing to scoff at.
The Royal Fantasy Bra lives up to its name, looking like something that you would find in the Tower of London along with the other crown jewels. It even has a 52-carat pear shaped ruby that dangles from a dainty diamond bow in the center. Which adds just enough glamour, although we imagine it is probably ridiculously heavy. We thought the Floral Fantasy Bra that Alessandra Ambrosio wore last year was gorgeous, but we think this year’s might take the cake for our favorite. Who doesn’t love a royal theme?
The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show will air on CBS on December 10th and as always, you have to wait until the very end of the show to see Swanepoel and the $10 million dollar fantasy bra. Although it is totally worth the wait.
