Fashion and Beyonce lovers rejoice! A Beyonce clothing exhibit is happening at the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame and Museum.
According to the site, Bey’s costumes from events, performances and videos will debut today (July 22) in the Ahmet Ertegun Main Exhibit Hall in the Legends of Rock section. This means our Queen’s clothing will be sitting next to the likes of Michael Jackson and David Bowie. “When we looked at the depth of the amount of stuff that she was willing to send, we just thought, ‘The only way we can really showcase these items is to put them in the Legends of Rock area in the museum,’ which really is the spot that we have to pay tribute to legends of rock, which Beyoncé has proven herself to be,” Rock Hall curator Meredith Rutledge-Border said.
Beyonce must be excited about this one.
The press release says that Beyonce’s Givenchy gown from the 2012 Met Gala will be there. Along with her Super Bowl costume, “Crazy in Love” and “Single Ladies” outfits. For an artist as young as Beyonce, this is a huge deal. After all, she won’t actually be eligible to be inducted herself as a solo artist until 2027, but she’s already making herself a little piece of history. “For an artist to be able to have a presence where all of her idols and mentors live, it is a big deal,” said Lee Anne Callahan-Longo, the general manager of Beyoncé’s production house. “It’s very meaningful to an artist when you feel like you’ve accomplished certain levels and to be asked to be part of this before she’s eligible, I think that’s really special.”
