American singer/songwriter most popularly known for her work in the gender-bending punk rock trio, Gossip.  Aside from her music career, Ditto boasted to WWD about her affinity for bold eye makeup, making her a perfect candidate to team up with one of the best makeup brands in the business. Beth Ditto for MAC Cosmetics is expected to hit beauty counters this upcoming June for a limited edition collection.

Announced just this morning, the collaboration comes only a day after the charismatic Ditto said front row at the special Jean Paul Gaultier couture collection inspired by Amy Winehouse at Paris Fashion Week.  With huge support from Gaultier, the plus-sized singer even walked in a 2010 runway show for the designer and supports her collaboration with MAC. In celebration of the new business venture, Ditto will be joining Chairman of the MAC AIDS Fund and group president of  Estée Lauder Cos. Inc., John Dempsey at tonight’s Gala Sidaction Diner de la Mode along with MAC global brand president, Karen Buglisi. Joing the MAC team, Beth Ditto gets the honor of watching the MAC AIDS Fund donate over $240,000 to the Sidaction this year at the gala.

Even though specifics on the collaboration have yet to be mentioned,we can judge by Ditto’s signature dramatic eyes that the collection will be filled with bold and dark liners and shadows.  Just like predecessors  Daphne Guiness and Iris Apfel (whom which we reported about earlier this month), we see the cosmetics brand stepping outside the box of conventional “fashionista” cover girls in their campaigns.
