If the forecast says it’s going to be sunny and in the mid-50s for longer than 5 days straight, it’s safe to assume that spring is officially here to stay (or so we would like to believe). But while the fluctuating transition weather can make for some tricky fashion choices, there is one foolproof way of incorporating the fresh season into your overall look, and that’s via your beauty routine. Here, a short-and-sweet spring beauty guide that covers four of the biggest Spring/Summer runway trends that we’ve been dying to try ever since we first saw them in September. A word of advice: just don’t try them all at once.

MAC Morange 0

Orange Lipstick

Tangerine lips were arguably the most talked about runway trend of the season. Even Rag & Bone decided to make their bold lip debut with the juicy shade. We recommend going for a true orange with a glossy or satin finish, but not sheer. When it comes to orange lips, the phrase “go big or go home” is essential.

Cobalt Eyeliner

While Marc by Marc Jacobs covered the entire lid with a gorgeous electric blue shade, we totally understand the fear of looking too ’80s in the wrong setting. Try sweeping a thin line of cobalt liquid liner along your upper lash line, giving a little flick at the ends to create a subtle cat-eye.

Sheer White Lids

Another blast from the past, re-imagined by Alice+Olivia and Tibi: shimmery, barely-there white eyeshadow. When done properly, the trend is subtle enough for everyday while still contributing to your eye makeup look. For dewy lids, brush on a sheer layer of pearlized shadow with an eyeshadow brush.

Apricot Cheeks

After a long winter, our usual go-to pink and red-toned blush tends to look a little garish on our sun-deprived cheeks. That’s why we were so relieved to see gold-flecked, apricot cheeks all over the runways, most notably by Dolce & Gabbana. Simply blend a cream-based, apricot-tinted luminizer from the apples of your cheeks to your temples to warm up your face instantly.
