There was one time when we spoke about Kim Kardashian and Kanye West as just celebrities. But we’re quickly learning that these two, along with their daughter North West, are becoming huge fashion icons. Case in point? This amazing compliment given to the family by none other than Andre Leon Talley.
Talley, who is the former editor-at-large for Vogue magazine and a huge member of the fashion world, dubbed the West gang the “First Family of Fashion.” Talley wrote a piece of Zappos Couture, praising them for their incredible style, particularly during Paris Fashion Week. “The three were a force of iconic moments as they pivoted around Paris, the mecca of fashion during the last fashion shows this month,” he wrote. “The Nick and Nora Charles of our time, the Liz and Dick Burton, without the brawls.” He then went on to quote designer Ralph Lauren and model Kate Moss — the former noting West’s eye for design, the latter stating her admiration for Kardashian.
Of course, it doesn’t take a Vogue editor to clearly see how Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have made it a point to make fashion a priority. Since getting together, the two have worn Lavin, Givenchy and Chanel with impeccable taste. Their daughter North has also made a name for herself as she attended her first ever fashion show, sitting front row on Kardashian’s lap.
The thing about the West family is, they don’t do anything small or “normal.” We don’t ever see them wearing baseball caps and oversized sweaters like many other celebrity couples out there. It seems like no matter where they go or what they do, their outfits are thought about, which from a fashion standpoint is very much appreciated. So, say what you want about these two, but it’s hard to deny their good taste in clothing.
