Fashion week is known for makeup looks that are either outrageously minimal or over the top on the runway. We’ve come to understand that we should leave these “out-there” ideas for Fashion Weeks in New York, London, Milan and Paris, and not apply them to our real lives. We women want to look classic pretty, not borderline clown status. We’ve found some of the coolest, freshest and still trendy makeup trends from Fall and Spring Fashion Week 2014, and these are looks that you can totally DIY at home as you get ready to head out to work, dinner or out to a party.

Zimmermann Fall 2014
As the temperatures drop, a darker lip color is expected. In this look, the lip liner perfects the dark lipstick color. This look also involves a slight flush on the cheeks and minimal makeup to the eyes. It’s a natural look that works fantastically for a day at the office.
Dolce & Gabbana Fall 2014
My favorite look of the season was the always-stunning cat eye. Make up artists love getting created with this look, as the flick can go straight, can go up, or can even go down. In this picture, the flick goes up in a check-mark shape, and this causes they eyes to appear more open and awake. This a great look for daytime or nighttime. Typically, the cat eye is more defined at night, as the lights are dim in restaurants and bars, and you want the flick to be as noticeable as possible.

Richard Chai Love 2014
The silver eye shadow was a must this season. Especially during the holiday time. Once you pair it was black eyeliner in your water lines, the look is sure to be perfect and to catch the attention of those who make eye contact with you. Finish with mascara and you’ve just mastered a stunning look in under 5 minutes. This look is great for holiday dinners or winter celebrations. Once spring has sprung, leave the silver in the cabinet.
Marc By Marc Jacobs Spring 2014
Marc Jacobs models wore stunning statement lid in rich, solid blue from lash line to crease. Blue eyeshadow will be huge this spring, as Badgley Mischka used powdery blue shades as well to create a disco-like look as well. This look is awesome for a dinner date as soon as the warm weather arrives. Leave the mascara and liner at home!

Jason Wu Spring 2014
Lacome makeup artists smudged Le Crayon Khol in Black Coffee into creases and lined the top lashes with a black liner. The lids were given a light wash of brown eyeshadow and topped with loose gold glitter for a stunning metallic effect. If you don’t want to use loose glitter (as that will probably get messy) you can find shadow that has glitter in it already, and the results will look nearly identical. This look is great for a night out on the town with girlfriends!
