The CMT Awards were last night–and, like most of these things, it was the kind of night where fashion mattered as much as music. Everyone from Nicole Kidman to Taylor Swift showed up in what they deemed to be their best garb. We won’t pretend we watched the show, but we’ll proudly admit to watching the red carpet and finding some memorable looks…
The 19-year-old Carrie Diaries actress wore a George Chakra dress, Brian Atwood shoes, Dana Rebecca Designs jewelry, and a Charlotte Olympia clutch.
We thought the nude palette of her outfit complemented her well in addition to being quite demure yet age appropriate for this young Hollywood actress. The sparkly accents on her accessories also made sure to rev up her sweet lacy dress without a doubt.
The 23 year old singer wore an Elie Saab dress, Jimmy Choo shoes. and Neil Lane jewelry.
While this T-Swift look does not particularly break out from her norm, we can still appreciate how pretty this is. Her minimalist take on flowy eveningwear is edged up by those booties, and her dress’ asymmetrical hem is definitely on trend.
The 32 year old House of Lies actress showed off her post baby bod by wearing a black leather Zuhair Murad dress, Christian Louboutin heels, and Neil Lane jewelry.
Post March pregnancy, Kristen is not shying away from leather! And, we applaud her. The dress cinches in at her waist perfectly and shows how confident she is in her skin, which is an enviable trait in anyone. We, personally, wish she had gone a little more sweet and glam instead of edgy to suit her personality but hey, who are we to say you can’t get funky once in a while!
The 26-year-old Dancing with the Stars winner wore a floor length shimmering gown with Tacori Jewels.
Pickler certainly looked vibrant in her gown, showing of her top physique – look at those arms! However, while we can all agree she looked stunning – after all confidence does shine through – her gown was slightly questionable. The allover shimmer was a little overwhelming and the neckline was very awkward. The exaggerated cowl neck / side breast look was slightly too 1990’s for our taste.
The 52 year old singer wore a a white Grecian-inspired Willow gown with gold Yves Saint Laurent “Tribute” Sandals.
While we like the idea of Grecian inspired red carpet looks, they are hard to get right without being too overt. Crow has an enviable body, however, this dress made her look boyish and columnar seeing as she clearly could not fill out the bodice. In addition, the awkward hem length did not elongate her. There just seemed to be a bit too much shoe showing than necessary. We would have preferred a floor sweeping gown.
The 45 year old actress wore head-to-toe Dior.
After Nicole’s breathtaking looks at Cannes, we expected her to really wow us at the CMT’s. We were mistaken. While she looks lovely – as usual – we found this look… well, boring. This would be perfect for a dinner or more casual event but found it to be completely underwhelming for an awards ceremony.
