Though we have the chance to test out an impressive number of skincare and beauty products, it takes a harem of blogs to keep us up-to-date on new product launches, tried-and-true favorites, and cult classics we may have missed. If you read our site, chances are you’re familiar with some of the blogosphere big guns like Temptalia and Into the Gloss, or sites we frequent regularly like Pretty Squared and Stuff I Love. We’ve taken the liberty of rounding up a handful of the sites you may have missed—and a humble suggestion that you check them out, stat.
The Beauty Sample – We’ve watched Becca’s blog take off like crazy, and it’s no mystery why. Think fabulous swatches and in-depth reviews.
Café Makeup – Run by a California mother-daughter team, Café Makeup fairly overflows with thorough reviews from prestige brands. We also adore the on-lip swatches—sometimes a hand swatch just doesn’t cut it. Always our go-to when we need to see the newest NARS release.
The Glossarie – We can always count on succinct, fun posts from Laura over at the Glossarie to break up our afternoon slump.
The Beauty Lookbook – Helpful side-by-side product comparisons, and plenty of sunlit swatches for accuracy. Dior, Dolce & Gabbana and Edward Bess lovers will be right at home here.
Beauty Huile – Oils, be they face, body, or hair, took off in a big way in 2012. We wouldn’t be surprised if N.K. of Beauty Huile contributed to that boom. Her reviews of oils (from top-tier to indie up-and-comers) are damn near literary, and her tastes exquisite.
The Beauty Professor – A taste for Rouge Bunny Rouge, Tom Ford, and nude lipsticks are only a few of the things we have in common with the Professor, and her wonderful series of video tutorials are anything but daunting.
The Formula – Think Into the Gloss’ transcontinental cousin. The Formula posts less frequently than some, but compensates with quality, offering a gorgeous glimpse into the closets of stylists, models, and other fashionable folk.
312 Beauty – One of our newer beauty blog finds, we’re already smitten with this Chicago-based site—and Laurie’s fabulous photos of a wide range of brands.
Lola’s Secret Beauty Blog – When it comes to scoping out high-end brands that fly under the radar, we can’t get enough of LSBB. Susan Thompson, vbeauté, and Relogy? All on our must-try list. Highly recommended for the skincare fanatic!
